COMM 635: Technology-mediated Communication
(hybrid delivery -- currently being designed and developed for Fall '06)

This course will provide students with an opportunity to investigate how current and emerging technologies are shaping organizational, educational and social communication. Students will evaluate new media technologies and current trends and issues related to technology-mediated communication as they apply to a variety of professional contexts. Students will utilize models of instructional design and learning theories to design effective technology-based communication materials.

EDET 620: Educational Technology: Applications, Applied Research and Integration This course addresses the instructional integration of technology and is closely aligned both with Virginia and national standards for technology. In addition to providing opportunities to enhance technology skills, the course offers a forum for discussing research and practice involving instructional technology implementation and integration in classrooms and educational settings.  
EDET 445: Integration of Educational Technology

This course serves to instruct students in the integration of educational technology in PK-12 classrooms. A major goal of the course is to enhance the ability of teacher candidates to be proficient decision-makers in the selection, utilization, and integration of technology to enhance classroom learning. Course objectives, assignments, and assessment procedures are generated from and integrated with concurrent methods courses and clinical experiences.

ITEC 100: Introduction to Information Technology

After completion of ITEC 100,students will use the knowledge of information technology concepts, applications and processes to study and practice professionally in their chosen field.   They will be able to utilize appropriate productivity software and teaching and learning technologies within educational and professional settings

UNIV 100: Introduction to Higher Education

UNIV100 is a course that is designed to help students make a successful transition to the Radford University college environment.   More specifically, the class is designed to help students: get to know fellow students and become a community of learners; navigate the many challenges and opportunities of the first year; learn how to successfully manage time and priorities; b ecome a successful student and b ecome involved with the Radford University community

This course is required for all Alabama teacher certification students as it addresses all of Alabama's required technology competencies. It is offered each semester at the Troy campus and is also offered online through TSU's Distance Learning Center.

EDU 6606: Current & Emerging Instructional Technologies
Syllabus

EDU 6606 provides an opportunity for students to take the "next step" in developing their technology skills as it relates to effective technology integration. In this course, students investigate many different technologies that are available and use these tools to design a technology-based instructional unit.

EDU 6617 focuses on the principles and theories that inform the process of developing effective visuals for multimedia based instructional products.
